Upper Snake River NRA Instructors 2008 Classes

Pre-Registration and Pre-Payment for Classes is Required.  For more info, send e-mail to register@spudguns.net.

NRA Instructor (for Scout leaders and others interested):  To become an NRA instructor, you must complete a 6 hour Basic Instructor (BIT) class followed by a discipline specific class (rifle, pistol, shotgun, muzzle loading, reloading, etc.)  The discipline specific classes are longer than the BIT because we cover day long courses like NRA Basic Rifle.  This training will give you the knowledge, skills, and attitude required to be certified by the NRA as an Instructor.  There is no short cut or abbreviated path to becoming an NRA Instructor.  One of the main things we teach is a constant awareness of firearms safety.  Another thing we teach is to put the student's learning first.  NRA classes are succesful when the students leave with a positive attitude toward safety and working knowledge of firearms and marksmanship, along with ideas for how to practice in useful ways.

For All Students:  Registration can be accomplished in several ways.  The best is to download a registration form (Click Here) and mail this completed form with a check for the course fee made out to Frank Jakubowski, 128 Tyra Drive, Idaho Falls, ID 83401.  Pre-registration is required so that we can order the correct number of student packets from the NRA.  You may cancel two weeks prior to a class and receive a full refund (or a credit for a future class).  If you cancel within one week of the class, the fee is non-refundable.  YOU MUST REGISTER IN ADVANCE FOR ALL CLASSES.  NO EXCEPTIONS.

The fee for a Training Counselor Workshop, now scheduled for January 2009 is $400.  NRA Training Counselors are instructor trainers and may charge for teaching instructor classes.  If you are an ACTIVE NRA instructor, you may want to move up to TC by attending this workshop.  An active instructor teaches on a regular basis and reports classes to the NRA.  The NRA Training Staff checks their database for activity before approving entry into a TC Workshop.  TC's must be NRA members.  NRA Instructors do not have to be members.
